A short guide to Africa
One of the aspects which most worries prospective clients and we receive many enquiries about, is that many people do not know what to expect from such a trip. They are often concerned about safety, insurance, food and accommodation. That is why we have offered links to relevant external bodies above, and why we are providing a concise explanation below
- Safety - We often hear terrible things about Africa in the
news, civil war, drought and AIDS to name just a few. However, the
regions we run trips to have been fully appraised beforehand and will be
suspended if any adverse situations or scenarios arose. We also enlist
the help of both locals and external experts who have had the experience
to deal with any such situation that may arise. Indeed, along with most
foreign trips, the most dangerous part will be driving to the airport!
- Insurance - Depending on the size of your group, we can work
together with our contacts to help negotiate a very favourable price
which will often be included in your original quote. If you want to
provide your own insurance you may do and will obviously get a reduction
in price, however it is mandatory that you travel with insurance and you
must show us proof before departure. Alternatively, if you represent an

- Food & Water - There are many scare stories around,
especially on holiday travel programmes such as "Holidays From Hell!"
which can paint a misleading and negative image of what can be a very
clean and safe environment for visitors. It is natural that some people
become ill due to the change in water or food supplies, this is always
the case no matter where you visit. We have found that the areas and
people we visit understand Western tastes and are very accommodating.
- Accommodation - Forget bad thoughts of sleeping in
mosquito-ridden tents and sleepless nights due to heat and, we tend to
locate in hotels which, although basic by Western standards, can offer
more than you would need under the circumstances, a safe, cool,
comfortable place to sleep. However
